
Dr. Pritesh Mutha
Dr. Mutha is a board-certified interventional gastroenterologist and associate professor at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. In addition, he is the Director of the Third Space Endoscopy program for the Center for Interventional Gastroenterology, a program focusing on cutting-edge endoscopic management of gastrointestinal diseases.
Board-certified in lifestyle medicine, Dr. Mutha is a strong proponent of incorporating diet and lifestyle changes for the prevention of GI diseases in addition to state-of-the-art treatment.
Dr. Mutha’s research focuses on esophageal disorders, pancreaticobiliary diseases, and the application of innovative endoscopic technologies in the diagnosis and management of various gastrointestinal disorders. His peer-reviewed research work has been presented at national and international conferences and published in prestigious academic journals.
Dr. Mutha is an active member of several national and international GI societies such as the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He has served as a member of the abstract review committee for ACG. Additionally, Dr. Mutha is a co-founder of a non-profit organization that aims to help patients conquer stress from within.
I’m very thankful for Dr. Mutha’s guidance and tutelage as I explore the connections between microbiomes and diseases, finding potential interventions for diagnosis and prevention useful for both medical professionals and the public.
