This week in ISM, I focused on my research about my visual representation of liver cirrhosis. I researched various materials and different online tools I could condense research into. Moreover, I want to integrate my research paper, but an article that aims to educate the public and inspire healthcare professionals to adopt diagnostic and treatment protocols concerning the microbiome, especially for diseases directly linked to the microbiome (celiac diseases, chron's diseases, liver cirrhosis, IBS/IBD, etc.). I want to continue to research the current prognosis and population database for liver cirrhosis patients because it's becoming increasingly prevalent and the treatment and prognosis outcomes are bleak. Furthermore, I gained an incredible perspective from my peers' OW presentations and speeches, both focused on the medical field. I will incorporate the advice they've adopted into my work. Next week, I intend to continue working on my Original Work and meet professionals to discuss and collaborate on its outreach. I also will converse with Dr. Mutha and share my progress with him for his feedback. I also look forward to polishing my Display Board for the Research Showcase. With the incredible information I've learned through researching individual diseases, I have much more to converse with the audience and share about microbiota they could adopt in their lives.
