In ISM this week, I've enjoyed presenting my Original Work and Display Board with my teachers, friends, peers, and parents during the Gallery Walk. It was interesting to present my research and hear feedback about their knowledge or perception of the microbiome. I will use the feedback from the Gallery Walk to improve my Display Board for the Research Showcase. I also met with my mentor to decide our goals for the Final Product. He gave me great advice for choosing my topic, research papers and authors to read, and ideas on how to model a disease visually. I am also excited to find connections between mental disorders and the microbiome, and how the gut-brain axis works as well.

Next week, I look forward to polishing my public speaking skills as I present my Original Work and Mentorship Speech. I intend to update my peers on my journey and learn from their experiences as well. Furthermore, I will begin researching various diseases like Celiac, Chron's, IBD/IBS, and liver cirrhosis and present my calendar to my mentor to pinpoint specific checkpoints and effectively manage my time. I will also summarize my findings in weekly assessments leading to the Final Product.

I am eager to see where this journey leads me.
