Continuing the reflection and evaluation I've focused on in ISM this year, this week, I successfully summarized my experiences from the start of August in the twenty-minute Reflections/OW Presentation Speech. I will continue to polish the transitions between different topics, like interviews, research analyses, Original Work, and mentorship. I completed my first research assessment for my Final Product and its connection to the onset of diseases. Moreover, I collaborated with my mentor to polish my Product Proposal and Calender. Next week, I intend to continue researching various diseases and their connections to the microbiome, such as liver cirrhosis, ALS, Celiac Disease, and Crohn's Disease. I plan to compile my findings and share them with my mentor. I will also research various materials and models I can create to model my disease and its progression. Researching gene-editing tools and microbial mapping with the recent success of a cancer remission are my goals for the next few weeks as well. Moreover, I will continue learning about my peers' research presentations. It is very clear the incredible amount of effort we have put into Independent Study and Mentorship as I am learning new things every day in both niche and prevalent fields. Similarly the end of the year, I hope to educate everyone about how the microbiome can be used to educate patients and improve their experiences.
