Diving into Perspective

With my Original Work's culmination, I am ready to dive deeper into the microbiome through my Final Product. With the guidance of my mentor, Dr. Mutha, I hope to use his expertise in gastrointestinal disorders and connect my research of the microbiota to model its significant role in one specific disease of the digestive system. In a research paper, I intend to summarize the intricate cellular pathway that develops from environmental factors to bacteria and disease and create a visual and tactile model.

This week, I plan to research various methods to achieve this project, including meeting with my mentor, studying his specialties in research, reading multiple literature papers about specific disorders and bacteria, and meeting with various professionals who work in the field to get their perspectives as well. I will summarize my research in my assessment. I will polish my Display Board and use feedback from my peers to finalize its design. I want to introduce the importance of the microbiome to my peers, parents, and professionals at the Gallery Walk and emphasize its importance. In the next few weeks, I will draft my speech to summarize my experiences, work on researching my Final Product, and dive deep into the world of bacteria.
